I'd really like to see such features built-in for those package managers, why are all of those not focused on any security improvements.
It's so weird since, most developers just think they are only installing some harmless code dependencies instead of actual software. But they miss or don't even know that such packages can do much on install / execution.
We just noticed that Android 12 includes a much stricter implementation of "app-links": https://developer.android.com/training/app-links/verify-site-associations
Afaiu if you don't control a domain your app will never show up in the app chooser for a link to that domain. The user needs to explicitly setup your app for said domain deep in the settings.
This is super inconvenient for all the 3rd Part apps out there (i.e. NewPipe) or even alternative builds of 1st Party apps (F-Droid build of Wikipedia app).
It always amazes me when people want to vote about something in a free software project and somehow imagine, that suddenly developers would follow that direction just because there is a majority of users voting for something.
Thing is: Most projects have few people who implements stuff, and as people in the kitchen will tell you: You get to eat what the cook likes, or you'll have to cook by yourself.
So everyone who insists on this, please pack your stuff and play democracy somewhere else.
For those using DuckDuckGo and uBlock Origin, I created a quick filter to get rid of these in your search results:
You can put this into the "import" section in the "Filter Lists"-section of the uBlock Origin settings.
After quite some time, my thesis about the ARI protocol on iOS is now finally published. 🥳
Along with the Wireshark dissector and tools that we used / produced.
Thank you, @naehrdine:twitter.com
for supervising and the help.
@schenklklopfer probier mal ublock oder ähnliches auszuschalten. Afaik hatte ich das auch mal dass da dann der share button weg war
#dinoscore is about to get annotations and it's sooo much fun ❤️ You press a button, it open's the score in Xournal++, then you save and close and the results are automatically updated.
You currently need to use the closed source (👎) #CovPass or #CovPassCheck to verify the validity of your own certificate (or ugh, read the spec and do it manually I guess... this seems to be collecting relevant docs: https://github.com/stealth/greenday)
If you've done that you can use #CCTG to carry around the code, or just make a photo of it, or whatever, it doesn't really matter. 🤷.
Let's hope CWA addw the verification part in one of the next versions or the CovPass sources are published...😕
Seriously: Cryptocurrencies are currently about to destroy some of the greatest things that came up about free software in the past few years: The ability to get up awesome automated setups with CI/CD and more, for basically no cost, for everyone.
Allowing any poor student in the world to develop wonderful, state-of-the-art projects without worrying too much about the bills.
And it's currently on the best way to be destroyed. By greedy bastards who decided to turn wasting resources in to money
@amolith I hope you already watched the violet special movie...
Also, for something refreshing and beautiful, i can recommend two shorter movies: "The Garden of Words " and "Into the Forest of Fireflies' Light" both are amazing.
One of the most beautiful movie OSTs is from Kimi no Na wa (Your Name) 😻
